The V8 engine delivers 655hp and very high torque. Its low curb weight of just over 529 lbs and its Spartan exterior make it an ideal supercar. The engine has four valves per cylinder, dual overhead cam, an intercooler, a dry-sump lubrication setup, and a stainless steel exhaust system.
The CC's chassis is made entirely of carbon fiber, making it very strong but lightweight. The Koenigsegg CC is the world's only car to have this distinction. Its six-speed sequential shift transmission comes in two different configurations, each delivering great performance, and the CC can be had with either a manual shifter or paddle shift on the steering wheel.
In standard configuration, the gearshift moves forward to upshift and backward to downshift. Once the shift is completed, the shifter returns to center, leaving the driver to rely on the dash-mounted indicator to determine what gear the car is currently in. In paddle shift configuration, the paddle on the right is used for upshifts and the one on the left is used for downshifting.
The CC comes with KACS, or the Koenigsegg Advanced Control System, which allows the driver to adjust suspension, aerodynamic, traction and braking properties to their own tastes. However, the car is set to a default pattern from the factory. The CC's shocks are custom-designed and built in Sweden, and they have an electronic adjustment system that allows the driver to automatically increase ground clearance.
Its brakes are also custom-made in Sweden; they are power-assisted. The front brakes are made up of six calipers per wheel, and the rear brakes have four. They are made of high-quality aluminum that has airflow characteristics which allow for heat to more easily dissipate. The Koenigsegg CC has Goodyear tires, carefully chosen for their performance and safety.
Aerodynamically, the CC is in a class by itself. Its performance was tested at Volvo's facility in Gothenburg, Sweden; the chassis is flat underneath to cut down on drag and there are tunnels in the rear which add downforce. The car's interior is all leather, carbon fiber and aluminum; the seats are lined in Tempur memory foam. Seats, steering wheel and pedals are fully adjustable.
